Virginia State Police Help Eliminate Auto Theft (H.E.A.T.) Program Wins SIAA Award
Friday, February 20, 2009 at 5:05PM In 2008, the Virginia State Police H.E.A.T. Program raced around some big racetracks and some little ones, too. H.E.A.T.’s professional racecar drivers would hate to admit it but the little track may have been more fun! H.E.A.T. participated in two events that benefited the Children’s Miracle Network—one branch located in Richmond, Virginia and one in the Lynchburg/Roanoke, Virginia area. Both races were called the Wal-Mart Miracle Challenge and required slick mini grand prix cars—essentially souped-up go carts. Incorporating the H.E.A.T. look in a smaller format proved to be an exciting task. For starters, the designs for the current H.E.A.T. Late Model Monte Carlos were scaled down to a dwarf’s footprint. Then came the backdrop for Pit Row, which featured a large format print on vinyl of the H.E.A.T. Mini Racecar. The whole H.E.A.T. pit environment was outfitted in bright red and H.E.A.T. logo banners. Most importantly though was the outfitting of the Pit Crew. The two drivers already had their custom H.E.A.T. flame and checkerboard professional race suits so the Pit Crew needed to be just as HOT.

A fiery camp shirt was selected and a simulated burn hole was added to the front chest pocket. The back of the shirt had a maximum size H.E.A.T. Flame logo, which you could see from a mile away. The crew was on FIRE!! ND&P submitted the H.E.A.T. Pit Crew shirt in the 6th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards and dazzled again—this time GOLD! Congratulations to the Virginia State Police H.E.A.T. Racing Team!
